Our Services
Brain mapping involves the use of electroencephalography (EEG) by placing electrodes on your scalp and using computer software to measure brain activity. As brain activity is being recorded, a detailed map of brainwave patterns is created across different regions of the brain. This technique is helpful for clinicians to understand your brain function and identify any inefficient patterns that may be leading to negative experiences and symptoms.
After your brain is mapped, you’ll meet with your neurofeedback clinician for 20–30 minutes to review your results. Together, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of how your brain functions and identify areas that may not be performing optimally. You’ll also explore how these patterns may be affecting your daily life and how neurofeedback can help support your personal goals.
Based on your brain map and clinical goals, your neurofeedback clinician will create a personalized training plan tailored to your specific needs. This will include determining the type of neurofeedback that will be used and the specific protocol that will best support your journey toward improved self-regulation, focus, and emotional resilience.
Types of Neurofeedback We Offer
Amplitude Training
This foundational form of training helps balance brainwave activity by increasing or decreasing specific frequencies. It’s commonly used to improve focus, sleep, mood regulation, and stress response. Typically 1 to 4 electrodes sensors are placed on targeted areas of the scalp.
Common Amplitude Protocols Include:
- SMR Training
Sensorimotor Rhythm Training is known to help with attention, memory, and cognitive abilities by decreasing theta waves linked to drowsiness and hi-beta waves linked to anxiety. - Alpha Theta Training aka Peak Performance
Alpha Theta Training is shown to promote a healing state that is helpful in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and encourages peak performance in athletes, creatives and executives. Individuals listen to auditory feedback and go into a deep-relaxed state where alpha and theta waves are rewarded with a goal of oscillation. - Relax Training
Relax Training is designed to promote relaxation and reduce stress. Alpha waves are trained up while Theta and HiBeta waves are trained down for this relaxed effect.
Z-Score Training
Z-score training compares your brain activity to a normative database, aiming to bring brain patterns closer to what’s considered typical. It provides real-time feedback to help improve brain efficiency and overall functioning. 2 to 19 electrode sensors can be used, depending on the goals and protocol - We typically use 9 central sites for this training.
sLORETA Neurofeedback
Short for “Standardized Low-Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography,” sLORETA allows for deeper brain training by targeting specific brain regions involved in emotional regulation, memory, and executive function. It’s often used for more complex clinical goals. 19 electrode sensors are typically used in a full-cap setup to capture 3D images of brain activity.
Infra-Slow Fluctuation (ISF) Neurofeedback
ISF training works with the brain’s slowest electrical rhythms, influencing deep regulatory systems like arousal, pain perception, and emotional stability. It’s a gentle, effective option for those with chronic conditions or trauma-related symptoms. 1 to 2 electrode sensors are usually strategically placed based on symptoms and clinical presentation.
You can begin your neurofeedback training sessions either in-office two to three times per week or from the comfort of your home with unlimited remote training. Each session gently encourages your brain to learn new, healthier patterns of functioning.
With sensors placed on the scalp, brain activity is recorded and as positive activity occurs in the brain, you receive auditory and/or visual feedback. This feedback rewards the brain and as our most adaptive organ, the brain responds to rewards by automatically adjusting to more optimal brain activity and patterns. As our brain function improves, so do our lives.
Visual feedback is often provided through a streamed show of your choice—the screen will subtly dim or brighten depending on whether your brain is meeting the targeted goals. These visual changes, along with accompanying sounds, signal the brain to reinforce more balanced patterns.
“Neurofeedback truly is a different paradigm from what we are accustomed to. Communication patterns of the brain are mediated by chemical and electrical signals. Because of the enormous clinical and commercial potential of psychiatric medications thus far, only the chemical paradigm has received significant interest from the scientific community.”

How It Works
NF uses brain mapping (EEG) to observe brain activity, identifies inefficient patterns that reflect symptoms of the individual, and then resolves those patterns by rewarding the brain with visual and auditory feedback when positive changes in brain activity occur. As brain patterns improve, the individual’s symptoms improve as well.
A typical neurofeedback session lasts between 20-30 minutes, with about five minutes to get it started each time. With the relatively short session time, it can be flexibly fit in to your schedule.
Neurofeedback offers numerous benefits by helping individuals regulate their brain function. It can improve mental health conditions like anxiety, depression and ADHD, while also enhancing cognitive abilities such as attention and memory. This non-invasive, drug-free therapy is personalized to each individual, and it can lead to enduring changes in brain function, often providing long-term benefits that reduce the need for ongoing therapy. Further, neurofeedback is known for having minimal side effects compared to other treatments, making it a safer and more comfortable option for many people.
Neurofeedback is widely regarded as a reliable treatment for many mental health conditions and peak performance cognitive enhancement. Many individuals experience significant improvements, and its non -invasive drug-free appraoch makes it an attractive option. Compared to other modalities, neurofeedback offers a personalized approach with growing evidence supporting its effectiveness. For the best results, its important to work with qualified practitioners, ensuring a high-quality and reliable experience.
Neurofeedback is neither invasive nor painful. It involves placing sensors on the scalp to monitor brain activity which is then displayed on a screen in real time. The process is entirely non-invasive. Most people find the experience comfortable and even relaxing, as it typically involves engaging with various visual or auditory feedback during the sessions.
To measure brain activity for a qEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram), an EEG cap with electrodes is placed on the scalp. The cap records the brain’s electrical activity (just like a cardiac EEG!), while you relax with your eyes open and eyes closed. The data is digitized and processed using specialized software to quantify brain wave patterns and connections.
Home training for Neurofeedback is an option with monthly rentals. Your clinician will assess your needs and make a recommendation to support your best chance for success. If home training is the best option for you, your clinician will train you to use the equipment and software and provide support throughout the month.
Neurofeedback is a tool that could help anyone enhance their brain health and cognitive sharpness. It is especially beneficial for those dealing with symptoms related to stress, anxiety, ADHD, depression, insomnia, trauma, or chronic pain. Additionally, those seeking to stay in corporate or creative environments can benefit from its effects.
Neurofeedback is a great option for those who have found medication ineffective due to resistance or negative side effects. It also appeals to individuals seeking a holistic, non-pharmaceutical approach to symptom management.
